Big Island Wedding Videographers: Capturing Sean + Sheridan’s Celebration

Big Island Wedding Videographers

A story of staying true to themselves and embracing happy surprises

When Sean & Sheridan got engaged, they began planning a traditional east coast wedding. They drafted a guest list of 100+ people and got quotes from several venues. But it didn’t feel right.

So in the middle of a grueling planning session, they shut their laptop and thought about what would make them happy. And that’s when they had one of their best ideas yet:

We wanted to do something really memorable, and the idea of getting married on the beach in Hawaii just couldn’t be beat!

True to Who They Are

Long before they found the perfect venue or hired their Big Island Wedding Videographers, they knew they were making the right decision. After all, it was their day – their celebration – shouldn’t they prioritize their own dreams?

So they trimmed their guest list to about 25 people. They also skipped out on traditions that didn’t mean much to them, like wedding invitations and favors, so they could focus on what they cared about the most.

The result? A Hawaii Micro Wedding with great details, amazing vibes, and unparalleled beauty.

Big Island Wedding Venues (and a Secret Garden)

But even with a smaller group, they wanted to ensure it was a good time for their guests. So they searched for a place where they could stay and marry.

Their coordinator Allison at Bliss in Bloom really came through. With her help, they booked Lalamilo Beach House, a multi-house estate in Waimea that moonlights as an oceanfront Hawaii wedding venue.

The yard was perfect for a wedding reception, and the beach gave us the ideal Big Island wedding videography backdrop.

And because Sheridan & Sean approached their wedding with care and flexibility, they had pleasant surprises too.

The morning of the wedding, a guest discovered a hidden corner of the property – a secret garden that overlooked the ocean through the lush trees. It was the perfect place for their ceremony.

I love what Sheridan said about this fun change of plans:

A lot of people will warn you about things that go wrong on your wedding day (and they are right, some things will not go to plan), but some things will go way better than you ever could have planned too.

Multiple Films from Big Island Wedding Videographers

Once the details began coming together, it was time to look for Hawaii Wedding Videographers.

No Ka 'Oi Films is based in Maui, but I travel throughout Hawaii to capture wedding films. So as Sheridan and Sean flew from Boston, I island-hopped over to Kona, ready to capture their most prized memories.

Their videography package included multiple final products: a highlight film, a ceremony film, and a minute-long teaser. This gives them different videos to look at based on their mood and how much time they have.

Plus, the teaser film is perfect for sharing on Instagram. Check out their Hawaii Wedding Teaser Film here!

Behind-the-Scenes Story

Did you notice the part of their film where Sheridan runs toward Sean? It was completely unplanned. Even Sheridan was surprised by it! As she started walking toward their first-look location, she was so excited to see Sean that she took off running in her heels and wedding dress. This is the kind of moment that Big Island wedding videographers dream of.

“A Gift to Your Future Selves”

Now Sean and Sheradin have returned to Boston, but they carry the magic of Hawaii with them. Through their marriage created here, the memories they made with their guests, and their film.

Here’s what Sheridan said about hiring Big Island wedding videographers:

Booking a videographer is truly like capturing the day in a time capsule. Who wouldn’t want to get to relive one of the most unique and special days of their life? These memories are priceless, and photography alone just can’t capture all of the magic. Videography is the best gift you can give to your future selves and loved ones.
