Markus + Caitlin’s Super 8 Wedding Videography in Maui
Meet Markus and Caitlin: A thriving Los Angeles duo who traveled to Hawaii for their lush and romantic wedding. There is so much to love about this couple and their wedding videography in Maui. From their remote Hana destination to their modern yet timeless style, they created a unique wedding experience that will endure in their memories.
One of my (many) favorite things? I got to bring along my Super 8.
Today I’m sharing some of my favorite highlights from this wedding day and how Super 8 is the must-have addition to your wedding package. But first, check out their Maui wedding videography here:
Super 8 Wedding Film
Markus and Caitlin are an ideal modern couple, but they also appreciate the simple things in life. Their celebration included so many details that capture the heart of a simpler time – a nostalgic, cozy feeling that’s hard to find these days.
For their wedding videography in Maui, they chose to include Super 8 film coverage. I offer it as a stand-alone package or as an add-on to my standard films. As you can see, Caitlin + Markus opted for Super 8 AND standard digital coverage.
The result is a bright and modern film with touches of vintage-inspired charm. And we had a great time capturing it too! I even handed the camera off to Markus so he could catch some authentic (and love-struck) footage of his new wife.
I think It has that vibe of capturing real moments – memories frozen in time – because of how imperfect it is. You can’t beat polished, expert-made wedding videography in Maui. But the Super 8’s rough-around-the-edges, sentimental esthetic adds a great perspective to any wedding film.
But what did Caitlin and Markus think about their Super 8 add-on? Here’s what Caitlin said:
There you have it, folks – real advice from real Maui wedding couples. Book a wedding filmmaker, and add on Super 8!
A Remote Hana Location For Wedding Videography in Maui
Maui abounds with beautiful locations – choosing a venue from all the fantastic options can be challenging. Markus and Caitlin made a unique choice when selecting their Maui wedding venue – they opted to celebrate in one of the island’s most remote and verdant places.
They wed at the Hana Maui Resort, a picturesque property right by the ocean in East Maui.
It was a bold choice. It takes over 2 hours to drive to Hana from the airport (if you don’t make any stops along the way), and it often rains there. Plus, cell phone coverage is spotty, the rooms don’t have air conditioning, and there isn’t a lot of shopping and dining nearby.
These things may deter some travelers, but it makes it even more special for people like Markus and Caitlin (and their guests!). Free of distractions and worries, their wedding felt like a true escape.
Their group treasures quality time, incredible beauty, and core memories. Their celebration in Hana allowed them to slow down and enjoy a unique Hawaii wedding venue.
“A Portal to Your Wedding Day”
I followed up with Caitlin and Markus after delivering their final wedding films. I like to communicate with couples throughout the planning to get a clear idea of their vision, but I also want to stay in touch afterward to make sure they’re happy with everything.
I’m glad to report they are. Caitlin said she’s watched the film dozens of times. She wanted authentic wedding videography in Maui (nothing staged or cheesy), and I was happy she was drawn to No Ka 'Oi and I delivered on her vision.
And here’s her advice for future Maui wedding couples considering booking a wedding videographer:
